Overview
Flagon Spraion. A sponge occupied by worms where the two organisms have become so genetically entwined that each can give birth to the other. Some of the sponge's germ cells transform into worm embryos, activating stored worm genetic material. Adult worms eventually leave, die at new locations, and their bodies nourish newborn flagon sponges. Spectroscopic analysis suggests the sponge and its resident worms evolved tens of millions of years apart, yet they produce each other. Assessment: known scientific theory inadequate to explain specimen. Requires further investigation.
